LA CANADA PLAYHOUSE
Welcome to the La Canada Playhouse!
The Theatre Department at La Canada High School is a home for storytellers. From classic comedies to modern dramas, the students at LCHS create rich, complex characters to tell thought provoking stories that are both hilarious and heartwarming. Whether it’s the timeless work of William Shakespeare or the comedic genius of Neil Simon, our students excel at transporting audiences of all ages into the magical world of live theatre. Students enrolled in the theatre department explore a wide range of drama theories and techniques in acting, voice, movement, and technical theatre which in turn helps them craft their work into unforgettable performances.
To continue providing our students with these life changing experiences, we would like to invite you to support the La Canada Playhouse Foundation! La Canada Playhouse is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was created to fundraise for the growing needs of the program and to support the students participating in it. We would be so grateful if you were able to support the La Canada Playhouse’s 2025 - 2026 season with your tax-deductible donation!

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
In order for the LCHS Theatre Department to produce world class performances, additional funding is required beyond what the district is able to provide. Maintaining our extraordinary collection of repertory sets, scenery, and props requires lumber, molding, paint, screws, staples, wood glue, and much, much more. Likewise, the costumes in our Broadway level wardrobe shop (with over 50 complete show plots and nearly 100,000 individual pieces) need to be washed, dry cleaned, and mended after each production. And then we have show-specific expenses including royalties, expendables (like batteries for wireless mics), and advertising materials - all of which must be paid for in order to produce the shows.
This is where your support plays an important role. Your donation to the La Canada Playhouse Foundation helps directly pay for all of these expenses. With your assistance, we can continue to provide our students with the finest theatre education possible!

To be, or not to be: that is the question
