The La Canada Playhouse proudly partners with local schools and arts programs to expand access to theatre and film education for younger students in our community. Through student field trips and summer programs, young people experience live theatre, explore the performing arts, and build meaningful connections with LCP students and alumni.

OUTREACH PERFORMANCES
Through our School Field Trip Outreach Program, The La Canada Playhouse welcomes school groups to experience live theatre through special student matinee performances and group field trips.
Students have the opportunity to see a full theatrical production, connect with young performers and artists, and experience the excitement of live theatre - often for the very first time.
We hope to introduce more young people to the performing arts and inspire the next generation of storytellers, artists, and audiences.

SUMMER ACTING CAMP
Held on the La Canada High School campus, Summer Acting Camp offers young performers a joyful, supportive introduction to theatre through acting, movement, improvisation, and ensemble-based storytelling. Campers build confidence, collaboration skills, and a love of the stage while being mentored by experienced teaching artists and current LCP students who serve as counselors and role models.
SUMMER ARTS CONSERVATORY
Hosted at LACHSA, a long standing partner of La Cañada Playhouse, Summer Arts Conservatory offers an immersive, multi disciplinary arts experience for students ready to explore theatre, film, music, dance, and visual arts. Open to the broader community, the conservatory bridges middle school and high school arts training while fostering mentorship, artistic exploration, and real world creative experience.
SUMMER FILM CAMP
Also located at La Canada High School, Summer Film Camp invites students to explore storytelling from behind the camera. Campers learn the fundamentals of screenwriting, directing, acting for film, and editing while working collaboratively to create original short films. The program provides hands-on experience and early exposure to cinematic arts, guided by industry professionals and LCP-affiliated mentors.
